Around here, we call them locusts (I know it is not correct)

Quick Periodical Cicadas: Every 17 years they show up, make lots of noise for a month, then disappear. If you don't live on the eastern coast, you really have no idea. I even remember them from all those years ago. (I must have been nine). Get ready...they swarm in May...
