i was just almost given a ticket for a non-existent law. the city of norfolk passed a law no longer requiring the display of city stickers [decals] on your windshield. the cop told me i needed a 2005 city sticker. i said, "i thought we didn't need them anymore."
he said i did. then he admitted that wasn't sure and let me go with a warning. i asked him if i could just call the police and ask them what the law was. he responded with "i am the police." i then pointed out to him [politely] that he didn't know.
well, i looked it up. decals are no longer required. and even if that wasn't the case, i'd have until february 15 to get a 2005 one.
