maryland's vernon evans to be executed

i had been reading this blog, written "by" an inmate on death row, until it stopped being updated. it's back, with the news that a new death warrant has been issued.

Vernon was convicted of killing David Scott Piechowicz and Susan Kennedy. It was a heinous crime ... During the trial, the state put on an impressive case against Vernon and convinced the jury of his guilt. Vernon's state appointed attorney did not put on any witnesses. Vernon has always maintained his innocence in the crime.
