no more wristwatches?

a teaser for the news at four today (channel 3) brings up an interesting point: in the age of cell phones, mp3 players, and the like, are watches obsolete technology? i'm not sure if they are completely out-of-date as of now, but i can see it happening. for many people, they are nothing more than a fashion accessory. i'm a time-obsessed person myself, and i haven't worn a watch in years.
