something just seems horribly wrong here. i feel bad for this lady. her 4-year old child was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident. the driver, who had been drinking, was convicted and served six months in jail.
the victim's mother was convicted of second-degree vehicular homicide and other charges and faced a maximum three-year sentence. they said she was jaywalking, as described in this article, but the news story i saw yesterday described that the nearest crosswalk was more than a mile away.
