local news

this woman has guts:
A Hampton mother and son, accused of planting a dead mouse in a bowl of vegetable soup in a scheme to extort half a million dollars from a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurant, declared their innocence Wednesday in an interview with WVEC-TV Channel 13.

"We never took any money, we never signed any checks, we never did anything," Carla Patterson told 13 News. "We were arrested, our rights were violated."
The mouse was clearly planted. It had no soup in it's lungs, was not cooked, and had a crushed skull that showed it had been killed in a mousetrap. She said she'd keep quiet about the whole ordeal for $500,000.

I've never been to Cracker Barrel, but this all seems to suck for them. Since the report of the mouse, business slowed immensely.
