Dick Cheney welcomes a new granddaughter. what a joyous time. maybe not for the parents, who live in VA. uh oh ... in Virginia, Heather Poe, Mary's partner, “will have no legal relationship with her child. She can’t adopt as a second parent. She won’t have her name on the birth certificate.”
this thanks to last year's 'marriage amendment.'
remember that VA already has laws against contracts and partnerships between gay couples. it's a mess, really.
